Jaco busy friction climbing on the last pitch of Sands of Time on Paarl Rock in the Western Cape of South Africa. The route is possibly the best of its kind at that grade in the country. I took the pic.

The route has a number of under clings and cracks. The quality of the rock is superb. This picture was taken of my climbing partner on our roadtrip in December.

First Wave has a bouldery first move and the crux is probably after the second bolt. You can clip the second and third bolt from one position.Anro worked the route and completed it in scorching heat as part of our December road trip. Picture taken by Jaco.

Anro taking it easy after the fourth pitch on the ledge. The tiny red dot next to the road on the left is our car. We still had another three pitches to finish but the ledge provided us with a great place to take in the view.

This was taken at Struben Valley in SA. Not to sure what the route was called but it was supposedly a 5.10c. We got caught in a storm an hour later!

Hogwart's Warted Hog is graded at 5.11b and is situated at the Harry Potter crag at Choss Pile at Hartbeespoort Dam near Pretoria, South Africa. The crux is at the fourth bolt but I found the roof section harder. It was a bit of a bogey route for me and I fell twice on the day of the picture but finally got it right. There is a nice rest position under the roof.
