The light briefly broke through the clouds and shone down on these two Maryland climbers as they worked the classic Apex.

This arete is actually fairly devoid of jugs and is named after Juggaurnaut, the classic overhanging, very obtuse dihedral finger crack visible in the shadow of the tree to the climbers left. This problem is a bit harder and almost as classic. The photo was taken at the annual Governor Stable bouldering comp held every spring in Pennsylvania. This problem was proving very elusive to the competitors until the sequence was unlocked. Then a sending spree erupted. Here's Tayolr Lamaraeux joing in. SMILE!

He was trying so hard to get the send, as is evident in the facial expression. I'm happy to say that he succeeded!!

I know its not the best pic in the world and you can only sort of see my face, but it's all I have right now on my computer. I give the route four (out of five) stars. Photo by Dan Fink.

Here is a topo of marking several of the potential climbing spots in the Nine Corner area. Anywhere you see a "B" there are boulders. Most have seen minimal, if any, development.
