Knut on a lekker little 22/23 at Kleinmond (right hand side of sector c, I think). Lost my crag guide, anyone recognise this one?

This has to be one of the most idyllic crag settings in the Country. Perfect routes, perfect base, perfect views!

A nice new little route at the Mine. Starts off with an overhanging sequence, has some good balancy moves in the middle, and ends off with a good roof sequence.

Not the clearest shot of Garth on the route, but the pic gives a really good idea of the what the crag, and it's surrounds, look like. Truly beautiful views from an incredible crag!

This is the heinous second clip on Puppet on a String. The good news is that you at least have a wide variety of tiny, tendon-tearing, cruddy crimpers to choose from! Urrgh

The only comfortable clip on Puppet on a String (22). Nicely placed jug halfway up.

A great little climb, and one of the longer routes at Peers Cave. Some balancy moves lead up to a small fun rooflet.

At the top of Spazmodic Cathy took over photographic duties and snapped one of me hanging off the anchors.

This is the view from the end of pitch two. The route actually allows you to gawk and drool at this magnificent sight the entire time. That's the (in)famous Robben Island out there in Table Bay .... Madiba's prison for 27 years before the end of apartheid. Lion's Head (left) and Signal Hill (right) are in the middle distance, with the suburbs of Sea Point on the sea side, and Tamboerskloof on the other side. The cable car in the forground allows one to enjoy a beer at the tourist restaurant on top, and have an easy trip down, after a good day out on the rock! :-)

Mark at the belay station at the end of pitch two (10). This pitch traverses halfway across the face of the big nose which hangs way above Africa Ravine.

Bells (Chris) stems his way up towards the traverse on pitch two. Already at this point the exposure starts making itself rather well known!

Pitch three (12) goes up a little, then out left again to an awkward little corner, with about 400m of air under the toes!

With Mark attentatively on belay , I discovered the very airy corner halfway up pitch four (12). On that tiny corner, you are surrounded by 90% air, 10% rock! Yeah baby! Pic masterfully snapped by Bells (Chris Bellingham).

Picture masterfully snapped by Dean van der Merwe. That's me chilling out in the forground, with Lofty on route belayed by one of the gals on the trip. This was my first ice climbing experience, and hopefully far from my last. Believe it or not, there is actually climbable ice in South Africa...... if you're willing to embark on a two day walk-in to find it (one day if you're super fit)
