This is a shot of Emily chunking a lap on the Flake (5.8) at Chenal Mtn. outside of Little Rock with her friend Katie belaying. It was an awsome day so I snuck in a pick between climbs.

This is the crack to do. Intimidating roof is much more doable than it appears upon first inspection. I had heard so much about it that I finally made the trip to Haw Creek in search of its splitterness...and it was all good.

Once I found the splitter, it was time to climb it. I won the duke and Mark got to second me up, which probably wasn't as fun, but hey at least he got in a cool picture.

Here is mark negotiating amazing roof system on For Whom the Bell Tolls. I like to leave him a healthy armfull of slack to keep it interesting. He quickly dispensed the crux and styled his way to the top.

Here is a picture of the Cave at Haw Creek Falls. Team Black is to the right in the back of the cave. This area is actually quite impressive, I just couldn't get a good shot with my little digital camera.

Ahhh! All the splendor of Arkansas sandstone laid out before you. Come, sample, and enjoy all of the beauty that you can. Just be on the lookout for us local types, cause "we don't take to kindly to your type round here"

Emily is styling her was up Treebeard at HCR. This was her first trip there and if you can't tell by the look on her face, she was impressed. She quickly got the hang of Arkie sandstone and was at the top before I could snap to many photos.

This was Emily's first lead in Arkansas. Only her second trad lead ever. We threw her the rack and let her at it. Of course, she climbed it without hesitation.

This feature just screams at you...climb me, climb me. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to answer. I am already planning this trip though, because that mother is totally worth it.

It's always hard trying to out climb a storm when your partner takes 45 minutes to climb 60 feet.
