A shot of the stunning red rock at Indian Creek. The place is amazing.

We were in Utah, so had to climb Ancient Art... It was freezing, and we actually got flurried on, but still an amazing (but freaky) experience. This is Phillip at the top of the spire.

Another black and white photo of Phillip climbing the spire. You are protected with bolts through this section, but the exposure is dizzying.

Michael Lary leading Wavy Gravy, 10.a. A fun feature in a beautiful area.

Again, Wavy Gravy is a fun 10.a. This shot shows a better view of why it's named what it is.

This, according to the Smith supplement, is a 10.b and no name was given. It's to the left of Ring of Fire and to the right of Dancer/Jete. It's a fun climb with some knobby, crimpy action, and a horizontal crack section. (And beautiful views, as everywhere in Smith.) Anyone know the name, let me know!

This is my friend Jane on a recent trip to Smith. She's leading a 5.8 that I'll have to look up the name to. (It's just outside Aggro gully.) These shots weren't taken with my best camera, but give folks more visions of Smith, and more reasons to visit!

Again, not my best photographic work, but more visions of Smith and it's grandeur. This is a layback-intensive climb on such an unusual feature. Rated 10.b. The crux is right above Phillip where the two blocks meet.

Shot of Frankie, my husky/shepherd mix pooch. She's setting the bar high for any dogs in my future. A great crag dog.

Our other dog, Henneh. She must have something in her mouth at all times. She's a wonderful dog, but not meant for cragging- she gets too worried when we're up on the rock. (whine, pace, whine, pace....)

Not enough Carver shots, so although this isn't a super sharp one, I though I'd submit it so folks can get a look at Carver. This climb is recently cleaned, and to the right of Smerk, with a trad start (5.8ish) with an 11.b finish, bolted. Really fun.

Just a shot of the Lower Gorge at Smith Rock- a great place to go when you need a mid-trip break on your fingers. It's basalt instead of volcanic tuff (i.e.- smooth and smeary vs. sharp and tiny) A pretty place, despite the pain in the butt descent into the gorge. There's more trad than sport down there, too...

This photo was taken in april at smith rock. We experienced 80 degree heat, hail, snow, mighty winds, and thunder in a 5 day trip. This was the day of wind and thunder. This shot is taken from near asterisk pass looking back into the canyon where much of the climbing takes place. We can always wow our non-climbing friends and family with this shot.

This is phillygoat atop the 5th pitch of Wherever I May Roam, a really fun 5.9. Watch the rap if you do it- it follows a different route than the climb.
