Chongo's 2-1 Hauling system is totally killer.
this system alone is worth the cost of his big wall book!

I didn't really pay close attention to the suggested larger pieces of pro and ended up jamming up to my forearms while running it out a little bit higher.

We've been climbing each summer in Yosemite since she was 6 and needed a full body harness and candies on holds for motivation. I'd prefer a day on the rocks with her over anyone.

The face below the overhang is a better choice however there is no pro to set, but no matter it's all good. A long sling is necessary on this overhang to keep the rope drag down. It's really not all that slippery if you just plug through.

The book said that climbers most often remember the top wide portion. The view was pretty great.

Brooke and I on the diving board. Brooke is 10 on this trip to the valley and climbing pretty well. Sometimes gummy bears and candy have to be placed on routes to encourage primal little girl brain.

This was Brookes first lead. Now that she's almost 13 it's time to lead more outdoors. She did great and we're definitely heading out there more this next year.

I know it's the standard climbing rear end shot however it is Brookes first lead climb. She's pretty good at placing pro but I'm not emotionally ready to deal with that until she's 14 or so....
