AngelicaHeading up the Angelica Couloir. It's rated as steep snow. When viewing the couloir from the North Ridge it loks very steep but when cramponing your way up it in good snow, it feels pretty mellow (maybe 45 degrees or so). Photo by Michael Rodenak

Soloing SlabsThe Red Gulley is stated as 3rd class. The gulley is mostly class 2, broken choss. We could see this from the base and were imediately drawn to the knobby slabs just right of the gulley. The hiking/climbing ranged from Class 2 to low 5th, with a high concentration on 4th class. A much safer/more fun alternative IMO. Photo by Michael Rodenak.

Ascending EllingwoodAscending Ellingwood Ridge on LaPlata Peak. You can avoid the ridge that I'm climbing here by going either right or left. Fun route but lots of choss. Photo by Michael Rodenak.

Me and My PEakTimstich took this shot of me on the approach to Notchtop. We climbed the Spiral Route to Morning on a very wet day, 8/21/05. The route ascends the leftmost skyline to the ledge. From there we traversed right up to another grassy ledge, unropped and climbed to the base of Morning which is just a wee bit below and right of the Notch. Fun times once again. I'm gonna miss ya Timmy Tim! :-(

Sorry BillDear Bill,
I am sorry for reading, stopping, taking pictures, drinking and eating on your land. It could be much, much worse though. At least I'm not fishing, kayaking, hunting and having sex out there too. Thanks for the photo op. A Randy Wong photo.

The Dog Days Of FallHere is Torrey and I hanging out in a junk yard in Moab on Thanksgiving day. Myself, jay_bird, charlieclimber and clymber were headed to Vegas when *POW*, clymber hit a deer. We pulled into a gas station at about 5:00 am when the radiator decided to spill ALL of it's contents. We walked to Dennys, feeling a little down on our luck, where we met the Angel of Moab. Our waitress hooked us up with a friend of hers who owns a junk yard. He worked most of Thanksgiving day on the truck. He gave us a ride and a tow too. Our waitress even offered us dinner and to give us her radiator right out of her truck if we needed it. These people were the epitome of kind. From the junk yard, we made it to Indian Creek for some fun climbing, great camping and great company with some great new friends. It's funny, we really didn't get that much climbing in but really, I had a fantastic time. I have a lot to be thankful for but during Thanksgiving 04, I was thankful for the kindness of strangers. It helped renew the notion that not all people are bad. Photo by Charlie Fowler.
