Half time. Kendra and I did Open Book and as soon as getting back to camp I decided to do Petzl Direct on the Grand with Sam. Slept like a baby after that.

This is a great first 10 lead. Most of the gear is placed above your position and the thing eats gear.

This usually doesn't touch down. You could possibly get lucky at the end of the year with a lot of freeze thaw action going on.

This is Dairyland. The biggest ice columns I have ever seen. Use the area between the two pillars as a belay station if done in two pitches. Crux is the overhanging umbrellas at the top.

Did this lead in late January. Good 4. Must place screws on Vertical ice. And would suggest three, two if your crazy. Second lead ever. Much better than the first. Photo taken by Sanjib a climbing friend. Ice is so much better than rock.
