This traverse is somewhere between Otter Cliffs and Thunder Hole, possibly Monument Cove. It's a great arm workout if you don't use some of the obvious ledges for the feet. This place has an excellent view of Otter Clifs, not to mention the ocean.

This was a fun sit start that we made up on the north side of Castle Rock. Not too hard (V0?) but fun moves.

On Saturdays, the views from Castle Rock are full of sailing teams and yachts. This (no name) route is on the south end of the beach - not much to it except the height!

This photo of Mimy gives a good idea of the setting of this area. No-name routes like this one are everywhere at Castle Rock but you need some creativity.

Now, if only we could get the beginning! This one is pretty hardcore. Look for it West of the Alcove.

This is in the "Alabama Hills" near Lone Pine, CA. Not sure if this one was actually "East Face" route or "The Shark's Fin Arete." Either way, it was no problem (5.8?). The view at the top is the real reason for doing it... the Sierras look great from up there! I'm the climber in this photo taken by my brother, Elliot Warden.
