After the arduous descent down the SOB Gully, the surreal Painted Wall stands in front of us, bathed in sunlight. The long shadows are a continous reminder that there is little chance to enjoy the scenery. Our route, the "Russian Arete" is just out of frame to the right.

amazing route that starts pretty mellow, a few steep mixed moves in the middle and finishes on some steep ice. a must do.

finished my yearly trip by trying my first mixed lead. tic tac (m7+) is a great climb near the lower bridge. can't wait to hit it again next year. thanks timmo for the great photo.

here i am in front of the 2nd apron on mt. evans. got a late start, but since it was september we got away with it. the snow and wind came in hard and fast after topping out. made the trip down memorable.

the dude is sometimes awake. great day with great friends.

The best thing about the red is it's pretty easy to find something to climb in the rain. We got soaked before we got to military, but sportster caught this shot of me on "fuzzy undercling".

got together with easton and greenspace for a little sunday afternoon bouldering. even imported a couple ale-8's to give it that genuine feel.

Here is Rob Owens on the steep mixed finish to the 2004 Ice Fest Comp Route. I think he finished 5th -- highest of all North American finishers. Mmm, Mmm. Charlet Moser tastes great.

The ice in Indiana is inconsistent at best so sometimes drytooling in the shed is as good as it gets.
