We had a wonderful day at the main wall exploring a new line. We walked up to it and intended to reach a ledge we saw up high. I thought about Dave Christensen as I sat on the ledge next to a sweet pine. Sonso45 took on 042906 on olylmpus digital.

I had fun just watching this climber on the huge overhanging wall. Great routes everywhere. Sonso45 took on 041506.

She was leading all day, this unk 5.9 was her warm-up. We saw her later on one of the 11s at el circo. Sonso45 took on olympus digital 041106.

This route was clean, steep and tougher than it looked. Great jams with a variety of sizes and committing move in the center part make this a classic to me. James took on digital 041106.

Emilio worked his first 11, huge tufas and steep rock made it very challenging. A friendly neighbor in the shadows raced to the shared anchors. Sonso45 took on olympus digital 041606.

I had a lot of fun on huge holds and steep rock. That's a typical route in El Chonta. The folks were friendly and the area was awesome. THanks Jaime for taking us there. Emilio took on olympus digital 041606.

Another of Mexico's fine crags, a traditional bastion for the DF folks. The river running below us was a plus. This canyon goes for many miles and would be a treasure anywhere. I felt the runout in the middle of the route made it a bit scary. Sonso45 took on 041106.

I pulled off two good sized blocks I had used before, when it was 5.10. IMHO, it's now stiff 11b/c. Fine job David.

Brent went right; shoulda gone left. Even so, his variation finish is a great 10ish problem on steeper rock. We went left to easy ground after the crack. Good job.

The crux is lower but this is the committing move off the slab around the corner to a flat-topped block. We got 2 pitches done and need to finish the rest, probably 2 more. Sonso45 took on olympus digital 031706.

This is one of the best 5.10 routes out here. It was a fine day, snow on the ground so we chased the sun. The rock up here is awesome. Sonso45 took on 031506.

The splitter Phil is following is awesome and well-protected as you can see. On the steep upper half, I started with a nut and placed a 1/2 to #2 camalot. Very nice climb, would be right up there with Paradise Fork's finest. Sonso5 took on olympus digital 0315/06.

A highly recommended route, one crack pitch to keep the riff raff off and three bolted pitches reflect a lotta work and vision for this route. I really enjoyed it. The hike is was worthy as well. Sonso45 took on olympus digital 022506.

Awesome roof, much easier once your feet are locked in. Difficult moves to get there, you can't fall out then. Beware the moves before and after. Emilio took on olympus digital 030306.

This is one of the Peak's best cracks. It is fairly different, it winds around and up and as it does, it goes from near horizontal to overhung, from hands to fingers! Sonso45 took on olympus digital 030106.

Kole styled the route ground up; super rock and great location make this an awesome squeeze. Next to it was a scary looking 12" crack to OW roof. Looking for takers. Kole took on olympus digital 022806.

The road in Sabino Canyon ends below these formations. The Hiker's Gulley takes you to Thimble Peak. It was overgrown and quite a hike to get down from Kor Wall. Whipple Wall was awesome to look at. It has a few climbs and room for many more. Sonso45 took on olympus digital 022206

The day was bright, cold and very windy. Still, it was february and we were warm enough. The climbing was superb and the rock just fine if a bit cool to touch. Mark T took on olympus digital 021506.
