top rope climbing boston rag, white trash wall. it's a fun little climb, harder to start than finish. also fun to try alternate starts, slightly left of the crack, on the face. makes it a lot more difficult. the pic is me, shot by my friend jonny.

5.9 climb with a 5.10 top out? and an alternative 5.11 start? not sure about that one, just what i heard. a really fun, slightly overhanging route. climbed it twice that day, just for grins. pic of me, shot by jonny. belayed by theron.

working the crack on albino rhino. a fairly easy, but fun, 5.7. i think it was the last route of the day. finishing off a pretty mellow day of climbing (5 routes, climbed multiple times with alt. starts). the second of two routes i did the set up on, white trash being the first. my friend theron showed me how to set up top-ropes that day. pic taken by jonny, belayed by theron.

jeff's girlfriend laura climbing. she and i climbed together quite a bit that day, since we were about on the same skill level. josh and jeff being a few steps ahead of us, particularly jeff. he was really knowledgible and a lot more of a technical climber.

jeff, being a more avid climber than the rest of us, spent most of the day climbing trad routes while we sport climbed. i'm thinking in about a year i'll start heading in that direction. i want to get a lot more comfortable on sport routes first.

i met josh at petra rock gym in the early part of the summer or late spring. randomly exchanged numbers to go climbing. a while later, he called out of the blue and invited me along with him and his friends. they were all quite a bit younger than me, but climbing seems to be a fairly universal and ageless sport. i regularly climb with people half my age at the gym. pretty cool, really.
