This was the first time that Terry and I led trad.... and the fact that it was a 5 pitch climb made it even more exhilarating! This is Terry looking for pro on the start of the 2nd pitch.

Solar Slab, Pitch 1, 1 of 5

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Solar Slab, Pitch 1, 1 of 5

This is pic 1 of 5, of me on the first pitch of Solar Slab . . . it was a gorgeous January day, but by the end of the day a haze blew in and it was cold! It took us a little longer than expected to get up the gully, and so we had to bail after the third pitch. Can't wait to get back . . .

'The Chopper was on Stand-by'

Average Rating = 2.50/5 'The Chopper was on Stand-by'

A successful send of the Johnny Vegas-Solar Slab link-up resulted in an adventurous evening of rapelling in the dark. The route looks much more appealing in the early morning light.

The great Mojave foot disease!

Average Rating = 0.00/5 The great Mojave foot disease!

Todd spent too many pitches in his brand new rock shoes (5.10 Mojaves)... They did the job perfectly, but left his feet a psychedelic shade of pumpkin...!

Douggie Vegas?

Average Rating = 3.20/5 Douggie Vegas?

Leading the 5.7 variation of Johnny Vegas; this is the third pitch where the option is to either climb a 5.9 right facing corner (zero exposure) or step right onto a 5.7 arete (more exposure)... the choice was simple.

Joon looks for the way up Beulah's Book.

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Joon looks for the way up Beulah's Book.

He was awash in a sea of soft rock and shallow pro. We had a blast that day. Warm in the sun, the Book was shady when we got on it. Great crux, well protected. Sonso45 took with nikon digital on 102905.
