Clear of the Crux on Misty

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Clear of the Crux on Misty

Though I still had some hard moves ahead of me at this point, I was very happy to have made it through the cheese-grater crimps of Misty's crux section. This was my first redpoint of a 5.10, and I was pretty stoked about it! Photo by Frank Nederhand.

Keeping the Faith at Sandrock

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Keeping the Faith at Sandrock

Nga lays back the crack on Faith, a nice 5.8 at Sandrock. Though rain was threatening all day, we got in a good day of climbing without getting wet.

Working Hard

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Working Hard

I was trying to red point this climb but i fell right after the second bolt (not a particularly hard section) and instead of my belayer letting me hangdog he lowered me all the way to the ground. Considering the crux is in the first few moves, if you dont stem, I was really pumped out but was able to get it in the end. Great Climb.

Jeopard off Midget Digits

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Jeopard off Midget Digits

Jeopard finally sent Midget Digits clean and here we're having a friendly discussion about how much I don't wish to clean it.

Me seconding Midget Digits

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Me seconding Midget Digits

Okay, so I let jeopard talk me into cleaning this route although I didn't want to. I was able to send it clean because once you get past the painful part (up to about the second bolt) I just felt obligated to get it over with. I'll give him credit, it was a fun route that I'll still complain about.

Average Rating = 1.00/5 Me at the top of Misty

Finishing Misty. My only picture of the route because the photographer was too scared after watching my one good fall.

pretty good view after a day climbing at sand rocks.

Average Rating = 2.00/5 pretty good view after a day climbing at sand rocks.

the dixie craggers atlas discribed sand rocks as less than pristine. while i cant argue with that discription, i still found the views pleasant......

Just relaxing at the bottom of Sunwall. What a great place. Lots and lots of great climbs. Now if it was just closer to Atlanta, preferably my backyard.

Mark on Misty's crux

Average Rating = 3.14/5 Mark on Misty's crux

What a beautiful, sustained route! Definitely one of the must climb routes at Sandrock. Great spot for spring break this year with fantastic weather and free camping. Don't let the scary stories about the locals and fourwheeling stop you from checking out this place! This was my first 5.10 lead, I climbed it twice during our trip.

Smiling after catching the tail of the rope upon finishing Misty on a wonderful southern winter day. Free beer for me! (Buschers, of course) Brother looks on in mock amazement as sf takes the pic.

Sloth photochop

Average Rating = 3.67/5 Sloth photochop

Here is a little something I put together as a novice photo shop user. it is me climbing a route called Sloth, in sandrock alabama. all photos for the chop were taken by a friend of mine 30 feet away off a tripod mounted sony cybershot. The photo tells the story of the route, I was using a rope by the way ;)
