Peter and I aided The Prow (C2) the Sunday before the President's Day Storm. It was wet and cold, but we made it. This is Peter starting Pitch 4

10a, or 9+?

This thin crack just to the left of Brown Eye is beautiful. I couldn't resist framing the shot with the tree.

After working the route a bit I felt confident for the lead. The photo was taken by Peter Shoene.

The first half of the second pitch was mixed climbing, but it got to thin ice above. Pitches 1 and 3 were thick. My second ever ice climb and I got to do the dike. WooHoo.

We were the first people we know of to circumnavigate this massif, but after crossing the ice divide we had to jump some crevasses to continue. It was so cool looking 150 feet down and knowing you were commited to jumping. Photo Credit: Rebecca Haspel
