Oh no, I'm a gimp!

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Oh no, I'm a gimp!

This is my arm after it was stitched up in Colorado. I took an 80 foot whipper at Lumpy Ridge and got a little banged up. Its all healed now, but I still don't have my full range of motion, hopefully my PT helps that soon.

The Slab That Got Away

Average Rating = 0.00/5 The Slab That Got Away

This is my hand after taking my first lead fall at Lumpy Ridge in Colorado. I was supposed to be out there climbing for a week, but ended up in the hospital after the second day. I slid for the first 10 feet or so of my fall on slab, so my hand got kinda cut up, my arm was worse. I still love Colorado though.

My First Lead Fall

Average Rating = 2.80/5 My First Lead Fall

Ha, I never thought the first one would be so long, but then I never thought that I would be so dumb either. Getting runout 30-40 feet over the hardest lead climbing you've ever done is not smart and it leads to this sorta thing. The arm isn't all bad, just tore off the tissue down to the bone and ground down some of the bone. I'm in Loveland, Colorado's hospital after being transfered from Estes Park. The ambulance wasn't as fun as I expected either.

A Cruise Up the Pinnacle

Average Rating = 2.50/5 A Cruise Up the Pinnacle

For my first multi-pitch lead, this was a cool route. We got to the fourth pitch and noticed some storm clouds though, so we bolted for the top and tried to get down fast. It didn't storm. This was my only climb before falling the next day and hurting my arm in my first ever lead fall, ouch.

Adam Atop the Pinnacle

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Adam Atop the Pinnacle

This is a picture of me on the top of Batman Pinnacle after having completed Batman and Robin. I really enjoyed this route and it was pretty easy, which was good for my first time leading more than one pitch.

The Wild Wild West

Average Rating = 2.00/5 The Wild Wild West

Yah, growing up in Michigan, this is what I pictured the west looking like. I dig this view. There's alot of great rock in the Wichitas. Who would've guessed that Oklahoma had such a treasure?

Crabeyes from Echo Dome

Average Rating = 2.50/5 Crabeyes from Echo Dome

This is the view of Crab Eyes from Echo Dome. I think I actually took this the day that the war with Iraq started. Didn't find out 'til a couple days later though.

Lovin' Wichitas Granite

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Lovin' Wichitas Granite

Yah, its not like Yosemite, but its all the Okies have. Grant (Onbelay_osu) is taking every chance he can to get on the rocks including this 5.6 called Atomic Knee Drop. He's taking a bit of advice on his pro placements from Drew (Climber_osu).

Drew Bouts With Atomic

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Drew Bouts With Atomic

Drew (Climber_osu) is making easy work of Atomic Knee Drop on our spring break trip. It's just a 5.6, but its a really fun climb and great for beginning trad leaders, because its easy to protect.

Slick Start on Barter Town

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Slick Start on Barter Town

Grant (Onbelay_osu) following Drew (Climber_osu) up this 5.10 in the meadows. The rock was still a little slick from the rain that came the day before.

Short Breather Before the Crux

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Short Breather Before the Crux

Justin clips the hidden bolt and takes a short breath before heading higher to the Crux of the climb. The climb is an easy 5.8 and he has no trouble pulling it off.

Justin on lead during our spring break visit to the Wichitas in March 2003. He flew up this flakey granit route in no time.

Not in Front of the Ladies!

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Not in Front of the Ladies!

Grant's (Onbelay_osu) mouthful of nuts can't go undocumented. He would never do such a thing in front of the ladies though.

Lovin' the Camera

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Lovin' the Camera

This is Drew, standing at Echo Dome and taking in the view. It was cloudy on that monday and the hike back to to cars was interesting as we were pelted with golf-ball size pieces of hail. We learned to be prepared!
