Yarnes on Facelift.....

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Yarnes on Facelift.....

Dr. Yarnes works those nasty slopers on Facelift - V4- Island Area - Groom Creek, Arizona. Eventually he got it, after chipping away at it, figuratively, not literally, although that would be damn funny and blasphemous all at the same time...

Whole World Area - Groom Creek - V3

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Whole World Area - Groom Creek - V3

Dr. Yarnes grimaces and bears down on the crux move of Simple Simon in the Whole World Area, Groom Creek, outside of Prescott, Arizona. This problem forces the climber into an awkward one-armed layback of an arete, before hitting a nice hold to top out...

This is Mark topping out on a big ol' boulder down in Williamson Valley, Arizona near the Tonto Boulders....this place is getting developed in anticipation of Bill Cramer's new bouldering guidebook to the Prescott area...tons of amazing new routes to be had...this crack line goes pretty easy, with rock solid finger locks up high....

Groom Creek - Left El Jimmy - V2/3

Average Rating = 2.50/5 Groom Creek - Left El Jimmy - V2/3

Mr. Mike Sallade on the business end of Left El Jimmy, a gnarly little Lifestyles line at Groom Creek, outside of Prescott, Arizona. This problem is dependent on some really small crimpers that take an act of faith to pull on!

Red rocks and blue skies...

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Red rocks and blue skies...

Mark relaxes after pulling the strenous crux off the start of Pitch 2, on Oak Creek Spire, Sedona, Arizona. A true variety pack, this climb has got cracks, chimneys, jumps and sketchy rappels making it my favorite Sedona spire, a true gem of a rock climb. The jump across was enough to question my sanity...I'm glad I did it...

A Prescottonian pilgrimage...Mecca.

Average Rating = 0.00/5 A Prescottonian pilgrimage...Mecca.

Adam Yarnes contemplates the length and severity of Mecca, on the East Face of Thumb Butte, Prescott, Arizona. A 1971 classic first climbed by Rusty Baillie and Royal Robbins, this 5.9 route is one of the best climbs within the city limits.....highly recommended....

How do you say mossy????

Average Rating = 0.00/5 How do you say mossy????

This is my home bouldering wall down in the woods behind my house in Charlotte, Vermont...I told you it was mossy, I wasn't joking!!! Its actually not as bad as it looks if you can believe that...the project line is the big roof, the only bare spot on the whole damn cliff!! This Monkton Quartzite is good rock...come enjoy the serene woods, trickling brook, and blood-sucking mosquitos!

Crown King jewel...King Dome....

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Crown King jewel...King Dome....

This is Renee Brechter following up Red Dragon (9) on King Dome in Crown King, Arizona. This is a fun trad climb with interesting moves, and cracks of varying size. It's a welcome repreive from the foot and calf burning slab routes that King Dome is known for....her disheveled look has a lot to do with a long night at the Crown King bar, waking up on the side of the road, and the awful bushwhack to the base:) An obscure area for sure, but worth a visit just to say you've been....

High Rappel Dells - Co-op Crack....

Average Rating = 0.00/5 High Rappel Dells - Co-op Crack....

This is me (cragb) struggling up Co-op Crack (10b) in the High Rappel Dells, Prescott, Arizona. This crack gets progressively thinner the higher you get and makes for an interesting top out. I took my first two trad whippers on it today, sending me to the hospital with a badly sprained ankle and a strong dose of humility.....Photo by Renee Brechter.

Williamson Valley big boulders...

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Williamson Valley big boulders...

This is Ms. Brechter on a new crack line we found out in Williamson Valley, Prescott, AZ. Not really an in town boulder but pretty close, word has it that Williamson Valley might be included in Cramer's new guidebook, from what we saw there was tons of potential... This was one of those boulders that you find and are like, "Me first!," here Ms. Brecter, with impeccable form onsights the first ascent of this beautiful crack line.

Weak Sister will beat you up.....

Average Rating = 4.00/5 Weak Sister will beat you up.....

This is Mr. Yarnes floating up what he does best, thin sport routes. Here he goes for the clip on Weak Sister, a fun Queen Creek route right around the corner from the ridiculously overhung Pond routes. An unknown dude contemplates the angle at which he must climb ...

Wal-Mart's backyard....

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Wal-Mart's backyard....

This is Mr. Yarnes working the lower moves of an unrated problem out behind Wal-Mart #2 in Prescott, AZ. I've dubbed it Adam's Overhang because he's the only one who can send the problems on this burly boulder...in Cramer's guide to the area these are the Flora Street boulders.....

The New OutFromUnder...

Average Rating = 3.00/5 The New OutFromUnder...

This is Mr. Yarnes on another beautiful boulder in sunny Prescott, AZ...this rock is unique in that its not the typical granite, rather a big ol' piece of Thumb Butte that tumbled down into the valley, some volcanic latite I believe, with sharp, thin edges....this problem is Airball - V2.

Breath...

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Breath...

This is a favorite in-town boulder of mine (cragb) in Prescott, AZ - affectionately refered to as the "kiltlifter" - it's a tough finger/hand crack with a scary finish. No that's no lice in my hair - it's hail! Photo courtesy of Ross Scatchard.
