Flaggin the ledge on the ShieldWe weren't sure about flagging our BD sky lounge, but it ending up making a huge difference. This photo was taking on the Shield Roof pitch. It was so nice to have a ledge on the featureless headwall, but it was so windy that the bag would sail way out from the wall whipping around very crazy like.

Townsend in The GrooveTownsend well into the Groove on the Shield Headwall. This pitch is usually almost totally fixed, but Townsend found a lot less gear in place than expected.

The Triple CracksLars standing high on a fixed rurp at the start of the triple cracks on the Shield headwall. Looking at this photo now I realize I probably didn't need to bring all those big cams with me.

Looking down from the top of pitch 22 on the ShieldPitch 22 of the Shield. The shadow is mine, and Townsend is at the belay. The Shield headwall is an amazing peice of rock. Slightly overhanging and featureless, its only weakness is this bashed out seam. This pitch took me three hours to lead which was WAY too long.

No name problem, but real fun! This problem is on the good sized boulder on the left of the path as you are just leaving the initial forest on your way up Bishop's Peak. Don't know if anyone has tried it before, but I found it to be quality. Good heel hooking and slopers to a juggy mantel make this about V5.

Lars on a random Shop boulderThis was a timed photo because I couldn't find anyone to climb with. There are so many boulders at the Pie Shop that I just picked a random one and set up the camera.

lars on Over the Falls 5.11aThis was a simple intro to Cave Rock climbing. A superb location, the lake laps at the bottom of the cliff.
