Cleaning the loose sand from Rocky & BullwinklesPart of work day Beaty Boulders on 9/25/06 I was cleaning the loose sand off the sandstone roof section that was very loose at first. It's very solid now and it's ready to climb.

Work day at Beaty Boulders 9/25New routes are still being added weekly out here. This is the newest on 9/25. We built a better landing and clean the rock face of loose sand for hours as well as brushing and scraping loose sand out of the holds and knocking the loose flakes off making it safe to climb now.

Ft. Mc CrackenPick was taken pre-FA of this larger of the 2 cracks. This was one of our "clean-up" days out there at Beaty Boulders. Notice the new reatining rock wall and dirt back fill to create the new landing zone. It's just big enough for 2 large crash pads.

Gator RockVery fun spot that can be climbed from any side straight up, traversed, dyno'd. There are great fun holds everywhere on this rock and even though it;s may look quite easy. All except for one route near the shallow end on the left side are actually quite challanging as they are very slopy top out with not much to grab onto. A swingingheel hook has proved to be very fun and just the momentum needed to get up and over here. We'll let you figure the sequence out yourself. Thats what makes it fun right?

shorter side of Baby's Arm BoulderThis is this east side of Babys Arm where you top out at. Near the middle - end you'll see a crack that runs from the face to over the top with big holds all the way over the edge. Nice soft red clay dirt landings about 2-3 feet off the ground. Perfect for those just getting into over vertical climbing and very much challanging enough for the expert.

Baby's Arm BoulderSince we cleaned this area out it has been raining so it hasn't even been climbed YET. It has some great looking holds everywhere and is meant to be a lowball travers starting from the long siode going around the corner and topping out at the obvious crack on the shorter (east) end of the rock. Good Luck!

Cass setting up for Breakroom BoulderOne of many fun sit start problems around Beaty. This one has a perfect gallery area of small rocks for your pals to watch ya climb under one of very few real trees at Beaty Boulders.

Clay setting up the DynoClay setting up his dyno move from the ledge next to the small crack on Highball Wall. This move was pretty ballsy considering just below out of the picture a missed throw here would have sent him 80' below into boulders and cactus down the hill below. By the time you read this though we will have made this spot much safer with a new retaining wall and flat landing for your crash and burn pad.

Rob Dyno on the MonolithThis is an obvious free standing boulder that sits on it's edge right smack in the middle of Beaty Boulders. You can climb both front and back of it. The back has a fun dyno route on it or use the small 1-2 finger pockets to make it much harder. The front side towards the road is the layback slightly over hanging route called Layback Jack V1. Great fun on this rock.

Clay on west end of HighBall WallClay starting on the newly built retaining wall next to the big crack. Lots of work being done to open up this whole area under this wall. Another larger retaining wall is going to be built this week under the middle section to help improve the landing here.

Classic Beaty OverhangThis is the classic overhang rock right where you park. It's literally right there along side the road where ya park when ya drive in. Take the trail just to the left of it that goes passed the big slab to access more of the classics.

west areaThis is the west end of Beaty and is where some of the best routes are located on the back side of the big slab in the middle. the sloping face is greta for kids, there is a long easy traverse on the side of the slab, and some much hartder overhanging ledges are featured on the back side of it uphill. There is a great , though very scetchy wall traverse on the cliff face just above the big slab as well that we are thinking about adding some pro due to the horrible landing/leg breaking area full of cactus just below it.

The Bridge Boulders main rocksThere are 2 main rocks centered under the ridge and the there is a small rock ban against the back wall. One more limestone area is out to the left side of the bridge that is going to be cleared and developed soon. This a great place to climb when it's either raining or if you want to climb out of the hot summer sun. Beta: The is a great placeto cool off after climbing called the South Park Pub right across the street from the city park you walk through to get under the bridge.

The Wall Of The GuruThis section is from the corner section to the edge of the left side of the cave. Rating V2-V8 several of the routes are much harder than they look!

The Smugglers GutThis section is on the end of the cliff and wraps around a corner section called "The Wall of the Guru" It was hidden by an overgrown mesquite bush and 5' tall weeds until I spent 3 hours chopping and cutting to expose what you see here.....sweet.

Main Cliff BandThis is the main cliff band. There's a huge camping/parking area just above it. The cave section underneath is hard to see in these pics and is much taller (about 4' ceiling) than it appears. This place is a huge find for us West Central Texas guys. Great quality and very fun problems just waiting to be climbed and named.
