Description:

Despite the name, this route can be tough for the climber new to jamming. Perfect hands to a small ledge, then thinner and thinner to finger locks to finish. For an easier finish, traverse slightly right.

Descent Options:

Gear anchor or an exposed traverse east then scramble to the canyon rim.

4 out of 5 stars Beginner's hand Jam

This was a cool crack, good warm up and a great introduction to the area, even though below the new place is much better rock. Tricky start.

4 out of 5 stars First lead fall on gear

Fell on the last move to finish. Luckily the undercammed red metolius held. Finished on the easier terrain to the right.
