Description:

Many variations to this route/wall. From 5.8 to 5.10+. Lots of knobs and chickenheads of all sizes. Since the bolts are old, most parties set up an anchor on the railing at the top of Moro Rock. There is also a large boulder to use long webbing. Get lowered down and climb up. 60 meter rope recommended.

Descent Options:

If climber cannot complete the climb, have your partner help pull you up, or he/she can untie, and traverse climbers left towards the parking lot. This is exposed 5th class and dangerous.

5 out of 5 stars Pennies on the Patio

Sequoia Nat'l Park Camping trip for my 31st Birthday. Didn't have enough time, gear, or buddies to climb all of Moro Rock, so I just did Pennies. Super fun Route. My best outdoor climb yet. Steph belayed me. (thanks sweetie). When I got to the top Adam (4yo son) hugged me like he was afraid he'd lost me. Awwwww.... Overall, it was an unforgettable climb, and a very nice bit of icing on my camping birthday cake.

3 out of 5 stars fun route. I TR it. Lead looks scary.

there are 2 old rusty bolts on this climb and one could sling some chickenheads if leading it.

TR from the top railing provides a fun safe alternative to this small wall with many variations in the 5.8 to 5.10 range
