Description:
5.4-5.7 Great for teaching new climbers on. You can vary the route by going over the roof from the left or the right. If you go up the left, I suggest trying the face climb above the roof.mpbro: Swiss cheese (lower) section goes a solid 5.4/5.5. Slightly overhung with ladder-quality holds. Leaders will probably go left, up the 4th class chute. 5.6-7 arete to the right provides an excellent sequence, but is unbolted and apparently unprotectable. All variations can be toproped from the obvious boulder on the back side. Goat Rock overview image.

Swiss Cheese
I setup a TR anchor this weekend and noticed that the bolted anchor on the top of swiss cheese is a spinner. Both the anchor and the bolt+nut spin. Yes, even the bolt. Basically take some long webbing + cordallettes with you (45ft). I slung the tree an the outcrop. Used the bolt as a minor backup as 3rd anchor.
It's a fun climb and really good for beginners. It's a bit of a hike an you will need lots of gear to set up (which means lugging it in).
You'll need a 60m rope for TR. You'll also need plenty of water as it's hot and you will be exposed whilst setting up anchors.

Great first climb
Nice climb for a new kid. Ample footholds provide a sense of security, while the variety of hand holds and opportunities to try out different grips provide practice for a beginner. Gets really fun and slabby towards the top, totally worth climbing at least once.
