Description:

Climb the slab and bulge 30 ft. left of "Endymion." Begin by scrambling up between the bushes and the slab or traversing the low angle slab on the southwestern edge of Hyperion Slab, left of "Endymion," to a sandy belay nook where brush and old burned snags block further progress. Climb the slab, on pockets and inclusions to a steep bulge. Pull the bulge on awesome pockets and continue up the lower angled slab to the anchor.

Descent Options:

Rappel the route, from 2-ring Fixe anchor.

3 out of 5 stars Twice is Nice

"Amarillo" is steep and thoughtful, but well protected. Wonderful pockets appear higher up on the route. We liked it so much we climbed it twice, then watched two other parties climb it. Still loose and crunchy, but more traffic will clean it up.

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic

Got on this new route and there was no one else at Texas Canyon, except the quail hunters. Great pockets on this route. Steep and continuous to the upper slab. Well protected.
