Description:

2 starts are offered on this epic journey up the center Tombstone. a 5.7 chimney from the highest part of the talus to the left or a long, varied 5.10+ direct start. pitch2: climb up and right into 2 crack system to hanging belay. pitch3: continue up steep double crack system (.12-) to hanging belay under triangle roof. (these 2 pitches can be free climbed together with dbl.ropes.) pitch4:thin overhanging crack splits the beautiful streaked headwall (C2 or .13b) pitch5:shallow right facing corner requires some trickery with small gear (C2 or .13 - ?) stance belay. overhanging corner reaches summit (C2 or .13+ ?) rap the route with double ropes. some serious folks are tryin' to free this pup as of March of 2002. let freedom ring. As of April 05' it looked like someone had removed the anchor for the last pitch. Hooks not mandatory but useful to pass the old bolt holes.
