4 out of 5 stars Fun.

Great climb with the wife. The land owner told us sternly that he isn't allowing climbers there anymore. Bummer. FYI, if he sees you, you will get kicked out. He's nice, but is trying to get the word out to ALL climbers to not climb there. He is worried about rockfall near the road and liability plus others things. I think it got more popular than he originally thought it would.

4 out of 5 stars Tip toe

Nice climb. Interesting chossy side pulls and crimps in a sustained fashion. Met the land owner and after a solid half hour were allowed to climb. The Land owners will continue to allow access if we are respectful. Do not park by their trailer on the W of against the grain. Park across the street. They are on their last nerve with climbers, having dealt with defication by the trailer and unauthorized trail cutting. They don't want to be bothered either. Just climb and leave no trace.

This was a climb that had been planned for weeks, and the closer the day came, the more excited I got. Sometimes when you wait so long for something, and are excited about it so much before hand, the real thing can be less than what you expected. This was not the case with Against The Grain. This was my first multipitch climb, and it was more fun that I can describe. It was challenging, yet within my doing. It pushed me in spots, and rewarded me in others. I would recoomend this climb to any lead climber in the Inland Northwest. We accended it in one try, and it took us about 4 hours. Realistically, if we had been a little more efficent, we could have done it in 3 hours. Camping is pletiful around the area, but nelly and I decided to camp on the side of the road in a tent. It was great! We will definitly be back very soon, and look forward to doing the other climbs around the area.

this route is a must for the true climber, veary challanging you wount find any body holding a starbucks here. me and dustin camped on the side of the road in the parking airea that he talked about and had a grate time there is nothing like climbing hung over. the trail to against the grain was hard to find but once we spoted the bolts we figured it out. i think that well post a pic to show it better. to the person the did this route thank you grate route and after we can do some 5.11's we are coming back to hit the others. also it might be a good idea to climb this lator in the day i think after noon the rock is starting to get shaded. made my week
