Description:

F.A. Kevin Watson, Mitch Roberts ----------------------------------------- Was named after the classic submarine movie "Das Boot" (The Boat) due to the fact that every time we climbed it the water would be pouring down so much so that I felt like one of the submariners in the movie. An 80' route with an overhanging block at the top that is fun to go over. It is bolted, although the last bolt on the face of the overhang is a spinner.. but solid. In the early season this south-facing crag is one of the first spots to be free of snow, which makes it an excellent day destination. It does tend to be a little wet and slimy in the spring which was when we originally put this route up (mostly standing in aiders and sliding around in the slim). Mitch went over the top on TR w/o aiders this spring. I still prefer to go over the top in an aider due to zero protection and the sloping dirt ledge that tends to be hard on the finger nails. There are bolts located in the big boulder up top and plenty of trees with which to top rope from if you are lacking trad gear.
