3 out of 5 stars Different

Interesting rock - Very different from most of Malibu Creek. Checked this wall out with a friend as a possible n00b destination. Not bad for that, depending on the n00b in question. Fun enough, even for us. From the top there is a spectacular view of Mt. Gorgeous across the way - especially in the late afternoon.

4 out of 5 stars Easy flying

My wife led up this one as a good route to get comfortable on lead after a while TR'ing much tougher routes. It was good for that, maybe not good for a new lead climber who is also a new climber.

3 out of 5 stars fun warm-up, not recommended for beginner

Greg and I both led this one for our newest newbie, and debated the merits of it as a first intro to climbing. Greg thought it was great while I had my doubts. The bottom half was pretty straight forward, but once you get to a large hueco 1/3 up the face, it thins out and becomes a more technical navigation through the face and up the top of the bulge. It felt too technical for a newbie. Would suggest Monkey Mayhem (start at the base of Oaktree) instead.
