I led this in the early 1970s (with Roger Stephens belaying) and remember it reasonably well because it was one of my first gear leads. The protection was ok with passive gear and climbing with Roger was fun, but there was very little to recommend this route. As I recall the route name referred to the bird, but always suspected that it might have had something to do with going cold turkey. Never felt the urge to climb it again.

I don't recommend this route to anyone. Extremely awkward with very little fun involved. Near the top, you'll spend more time trying to get gear in than actually climbing. The big ledge in the middle breaks up even the slight entertainment value that the route offers.
