Great fun. There is one thoughtful crux, but crusier most of the way. The position on the slab face is total fun. We climbed into the East side of the Watch tower, that is a good way to finish.

goes surprisingly quickly. i guess fiddling with pro takes time...

This is a nice quick and mellow route for your first afternoon at the Needles. It's fun topping out at the lookout.

The crux was airy, and the lead-up to it built the tension tremendously, but the moves themselves were not particularly difficult. They were also obvious, which was nice. This route was a great introduction to Needles climbing, especially the runout but easy slab. I should add that Tim and I did a very fun variation on the last pitch, with a 5.8 but very, very committing move onto the right/southeast side of the prow of rock on which the fire outlook sits.

did the stragebrew start. and the bolt pulled out that protects the knob climbing on the second pitch while my friend was leading, just from the outward force of the rope, so no pro but still very friendly 5.7 climbing.
