Starts 10c and eventually lets up to .9. Upper face pitches are runout.

* Done it a few times...first pitch is stellar Yosemite quality.

I did the 11 crack start and the entire first pitch is pretty damn good. The upper pitches are alright but don't compare to the quality of the first pitch.

Nice route. We did the 5.8 variation above the roof, and linked several pitches.
Warning, the slabs high are very run out- 5 or 6 points over 140 ft. Be confident at 5.9 no fall.

Really just a perfect climb. It's a must do.

Link the first two pitches. Do the 5.11 direct start too, it's killer. The face pitches up high really round out the route. It has it all, face, slab, finger cracks, hand cracks, liebacks, underclings and its really exposed the whole way. Great route, should be on everyones list of to do's. Apparently Roper never climbed at Cal Domes. Because if he had, Wall of the Worlds and maybe even Silk Road would be in his 50 classics.
