Ascent Notes for: Off Line - 5.8 Average Rating : 3.00/5

This was my first outside climb since I was about 7 years old. I lead it but found the second bolt a little tricky/intimidating. Otherwise it was a very fun climb on a warm Christmas day.

High 1st bolt.

good solid climb, a bit runout between 2nd & 3rd bolt. after setting up a TR climbed a variation to the right. much more fun climb with a bit mor challenge. Work the crack five feet to the right of the bolt line, it seperates off line from mr squirrel, up over the two small overhangs

Climbed this today (8-8-09) and it is a fun 8. The crux is right at the first bolt though it is clipable without conquering the move. Work on mostly positive holds to the middle of the arete or work the crack to the left side for good jams. Either variation was fun. Nice ledge at the anchors to set up or rap off. This route gets hot in the sunlight...

Side Note: The winch hooks Ken placed are not there. The anchors are double cold shuts to rap off from.

This route was "a runout bitch" according to the lead. He Redpointed it with style. Thus he enabled me to try this quirky 8. This was an ackward 8 but it was fun and well recommended if you don't mind runouts.
