Excellent climb, well protected, easy route finding

Good intro to the Black with easy route-finding and reasonable rock and pro

This was a really great climb. The rock is good, position is enjoyable. The gully, like all the gullies in the Black are no fun. It's in the sun most of the time so not the best August climb.

A good climb on much better rock then one encounters on The Casual Route. Easy routefinding, low traffic, strongly suggested! However, do take note that the hike back up after the climb is not near as much fun as the climb itself!

Great route. One of my favorite climbs for aesthetic reasons. The black canyon creates an awesome atmosphere very quiet (not many folks around), yet impressive expanses before you With a 70 meter rope it could have easily been done in 3 pitches. Many have commented in past about loose holds/rock on P1...everything seemed solid to me, maybe the route has been cleaned up with climbing traffic over the years. P2 had a definite crux... out and around a roof (to the left), basically a couple of reachy moves, but protectable. The rest of the route was clockwork. The walk off is not fun...end up traversing and scrambling up an annoying brushy steep gully. You sort of end up winging a route up to the rim. Route is quality, would recommend to others!
