I tied the flake rather than jam a nut behind to lever it out.

I have been climbing at the Gunks for 8 years and never led it until now. My wife led it a few years ago and i followed, so I marked it as a redpoint, but I didn't really remember much, so it's more like an onsight. Super cool climb though. I found it easier than some other Gunks 9's.

Floated this today.

NIce and easy today. Could I lead this? Maybe. It's thin and reachy in spots, burly in others.

Lowered Jen while the rain poured down and lightning filled the skies. We hunkered down under Doug's roof until the thunderstorm departed. I cleaned the gear in a light drizzle, making the bottom moves...oh so delicate. Fun with the "grease" factor.

Did the chimney variation. This really hurt my feet, surgery in November is not helping my climbing.

Finally got on the route (on t/rope) after several years since my first 2 tries, and got up clean. Way happy. Pauline belayed me.

Pretty easy on toprope. Try not to have your belayer lower you into the tree on the way down.

Seconded this line cleanly in August, sent first go on lead. Dropping the whole 'biner of nuts in the sizes I needed, and forgetting to take any Green C4s made it into a much more hairy lead than it should have been because I had to pull the crux with bad gear under my feet. My fault and stupidity all around. I can't think of any reason why I dropped the nuts-- at an easy comfortable stance near the bottom, other than my fingers being numb from the cold at the beginning of the day. I thought I clipped it back to the harness, but obviously I missed.
