Ascent Notes for: House of Pain - 5.13a Average Rating : 4.50/5

For the longest time I hated this route, but today I just got on and it all went down.
Things that made this route easier for me:
Make sure the rocks at the bottom are stacked so you can easily reach the first two finger pocket (I am 5'6 and could barely reach it on earlier attempts. Not having good purchase on the first hold makes the next 2 moves much much harder if you're short).
If you're not tall, don't do the "rose" move. It's a waste of energy when you can get a high right foot just to the left of the cave and then easily just push up to the next jug.

Anyhow, this route is really not that hard once you pull the first crux section and get the rest.

Awesome route! Sent this today as my first 13. I had the most difficulty going to the 3 finger pocket by the third bolt, though I understand some people have more trouble with the move after that.

Get through the beginning quickly and efficiently. Take advantage of the rest spot in the middle.

1. Don't top rope this route. Not worth the rope hassel.
2. Use good heel hooking shoe. Espically for the right heel.
