This wasn't too bad for me, though the start was bloody slippery. I ended up doing the variant because I couldn't quite figure out what the real route was supposed to do so I just went straight up. Not too bad once over the start.

crux is the bottom... there is no way this is a real 5.11... it wasn't that hard for me at all...

even harder if you use only the 2 seams on the right. Pretty thin and 11b-ish this way. Much more logical line than the left, right jive...

I did it... Dude this was a mess... just a lousy TR ascent and hang dogged a bit cause i couldn't figure out where to go at times but i got it done... Great way to start my b-day

This is rated a 5.11 in Art Messier's guide (http://www.giantsoftware.com/sdcc/free_guides/mg_middle_earth.pdf). I think that the crux of the climb is still the start, though (5.10c). The variation involves a move with decent hands and friction for feet.
