EPIC!
Awesome intro to big walls. It will let you know if you're cut out for it or not. :)

ugh
high-90s in the valley, got absolutely baked. this route is a pain to rappel with the down-clipping, don't think of that as your storm strategy because it takes longer.
our stuff sacks were nibbled on on the ahwanee. p5 is longer than the guide says and some fixed gear is missing, although you don't need it. (just longer reaches.)
p6 free moves are very unprotected, but perhaps easier than 5.7.

Another Send on The West Face
This was my second trip up WFLT, I was amazed that Ahwahnee Ledge sleep had seven people sleeping on it.

My first Big-Wall
Having been just a Gunky until now, I was in for culture shock at the sight the Valley. Wow!

Bring heads 1 #2, 3
Off of the original pitch 3 there are 3 heads, two have about half their wires. Wear free shoes and get ready to do some 5.8 manteling on pitch 3 to save yourself some trouble. Link all pitches, even with rope drag the 5.7 on p.6 is easier than the 5.6 slab.

Good stuff
TONS of fixed gear especially on p10. Great exposure and a good intro to hooking. The physical crux is the approach and descent. Great solo as it can be linked into five long pitches.
