fun route

Warm day in Feb with Marek. Short route, but fun warm up from not climbing all winter.

Nice face climbing for a beginner. Not run out at all. Grade more like 5.6 or 5.7 at most.

The approach had me a little puckered. This was the first route of my second climbing trip. Loved the route. Had some people on the road below stop and taking photos of us and lots of hikers looking and pointing. Made me feel way too cool! :)

I think this is easier than Turkey Hooks (5.8) and Butter Fingers (5.9) to the left of this. The bottom has got great feet -- maybe one difficult hold to find up top. Short route - One group leaving when I got there was using one 70m rope to toprope Butter Fingers AND Butter Ball at the same time.

I love technical routes like this.

Great lead, well bolted for the graded. There is always a good hold if you take the time to find it.

I would say the guide book 5.9 rating is accurate, but only one 5.9 move on the route, the rest is 5.8. Really fun balancey climb though.
