I free soloed this in the summer of 1983. I had to use a short piece of 9mm to protect a scary, 30' section about two-thirds of the way up. The hardest part was standing on the very summit and not swooning to the deck.

Repeated in '96 as a solo alongside another party. Incredible summit. Satisfying route, but very crowded. Both times we were first pm the route by beginning our hike at 4:30 am.
