Tricky Start
The difficulty is entirely in the start, and one hard move at the chains. The start can be much harder than a 12b should be if you use bad beta. With good beta it's not too bad though. Sent second go.

Did it break?
Because that start is hard. Harder than 12b, IMO. The rest of the route is solid though, and a super fun route too. Sent second try today, plus one try years ago.

Hard
I don't think this is the same route as Hogge describes below anymore. Too much has broken. The holds he describes for the crux above the jug ledge don't exist anymore. Beta now requires you to meander to the right to the chossy orange rock section. Doesn't require too much traversing, but enough to make it seem like it "Could" be off route. But if you don't use it then it won't be a 5.12 anymore.
Solid at 12b IMO. This took two tries yesterday, and one a few years back.

Just Meh
Not really a good route. 2 bolts, 5.8 to V6. The V6 is incredibly height dependent. At 5'9" with a -2 wingspan I was totally stretched out for the crux. Still I was able to do the crux with my feet on, and thus it felt a bit soft for 12d. Still not 12c, but for sure on the softer side of 12d. Would have sent 2nd go, but a quickdraw was lying on top of the crux hold on my 2nd go preventing me from snagging the hold. Third try.

Final tick for Dead Cats
This route has always been a thorn in my side. Couldn't do the dyno for a long time, and rarely came back to try. Today I had a friend at Dead Cats so I had an opportunity to try it again. Did it first try. Dyno still feels hard, probably harder than 11c but who knows.

Why not recommended?
Seemed like a solid route to me? I had to clean dirt out of all the holds (pockets) because it rarely see's traffic, but after that it was an enjoyable boulder problem/route.
Really more of a boulder problem than a route since the route is sustained from the first move all the way to the last bolt. Sent 4th go, on my second day on. Du sent 2nd go. We both thought 12c seemed fair.

Meh. Dirtier, longer, slightly harder version of spider grind.
