Baby Robbin's Crack

Gotta get ready for Robbin's Crack. I got a blister on the inside of my middle finger from doing laps on this one. It took a few tries to feel comfortable. Now I've just got to practice placing gear. Bouldered it. Now if I could only find stuff like this at hand a fist width, we'd be in business.

Entirely possible to clip bolts for the other 'monger as you near the top. No need for gear.

Not sure if I did this right . . . I took the horizontal (about halfway up) out the left and around the arete to the top. Fun variation if not the correct route.

One of my favorite routes at the Gorge. Definitely easier than The Tower.

Very enjoyable with good exposure. Almost a sport climb. First bulge at the base would take pro if you're uncomfortable with it. Otherwise, all you need is draws. Always a ledge when you need one.

Fun Climb. I've heard that the large rectangular block at the bottom can shift. Be careful with cam placements. That said, I always feel like going over the roof is harder than it should be . . . maybe I'm making it too hard on myself.

The Owl

The first time I did this, there was much cursing and downclimbing before clearing the crux. I was looking at the old guide that shows it as a 5.6 (i think). Hardest friggin' 5.6 I'd ever done. Found out later about the missing start hold. Make good use of the outer crack for your hands. I refuse to believe that I can climb 5.9 trad, so I give this a 5.8.
