5 out of 5 stars El Potrero Chico

Okay, we jumped on this by accident... Let me preface this note by saying I am a 10a climber. I threw a draw in for my partner who led the first pitch then I took p2/p3. Runout with a pucker factor of 9 on a scale of 10 for a 10a mid-west leader. My partner actually said the "D" word on p3 as I took off since a fall from the bolt 20ft would have put me right into his lap. Not a pretty climb but wild adventure. In a few years I will be back and this will be the first climb I do... So, on that note if you want a mental challenge try it... Otherwise, pick something else.

5 out of 5 stars El Potrero

Excellent climb with some very technical pitches. We skipped the final pitch. Weather blew in on the 13th pitch and we spent 3-4 hours descending in thick fog, wind, cold rain, and occasional Thunder. I was only waiting for a rope to get stuck in the high winds and call it a epic... Sadly, other then weather stress it went smoothly. My quest for a epic continues.

4 out of 5 stars El Potrero

Excellent route. Do yourself a favor even if your a 10a/b climber and take the 11a variation. It is doable but make sure you are slightly comfortable with finger crack climbing to the first knuckle. Very sweet/pumpy 5-6 move finger crack with a bolt then an exposed move out to a face flake. It made the entire route... Enjoy the summit!

2 out of 5 stars El Potrero

Very ugly Alternate Start for Supernova. I highly suggest sticking with the 11a start since it affords better hands/feet with a lower bolt. Do not be suckered by the 10d.
