Ascent Note
Nice route, though I don't think it merits three stars in the Willams' "Select" guide. The 1st pitch crux was a few moves off the ground. It took me a a long time to find a foothold for the crux move, and the ledges were muddy from several days of heavy rain, necessitating constant cleaning of hands and soles. 2nd pitch was easier but more enjoyable, with nice moves throught the corner and an interesting crimp sidepull move on the face.

Ascent Note
What a great route! Sally's first time on real rock. We did the more interesting option (according to the Williams' "Select" guide) on the second pitch - straight up from the ledge and then traverse left to the corner. Just before setting out on the third pitch, a light but steady rain started to fall. We waited on the ledge below that huge roof for about 15 minutes, staying completely dry, until the rain stopped and the rock dried a bit, then finished the route.

John's second lead - another nice job. Jessie's first rappel - I gave her a back-up lower.

How many times have I been on this? And it's still exciting. Traded leads with John, with Jessie in the middle. John needed practice protecting a traverse, so he took the second pitch.

Climbed first pitch of Arch and third pitch of Wrist. Lisa took a fall on the traverse and decided to lower off. I converted my anchor to toprope, downclimbed to clean, re-ascended and rapped off.

Ascent Note
Climbed first pitch of Arch and third pitch of Wrist. Liza fell on the traverse and chose not to finish the route. I converted my anchor to a top-rope anchor, down-climbed to clean the route, then re-ascended and rapped off to retrieve my partner.

Ascent Note
I wanted to give Liza a positive end to the day after bailing on third pitch of Wrist. Something easy but still mentally challenging.

John's first lead. Nice job, John! It started to get cold and very windy, so we bailed after the second pitch. Ran into Dawes on rappel, which was a pleasant coincidence since Dawes was the guide who first took me up Shockley's, which I had led for the first time this morning.
