one of my first trad leads - 'twas fun - I used a couple of stoppers and a nice big hexcentric - a #8 I think (gold) - set up tr from there, we just stayed there the rest of the eve, as it was jim's first outdoor climb and beth likes it fun & easy. we worked not only the crack but the faces all around it too. classic! great intro route.

my hardest lead yet - runout, too . . . but it was way cool. after a good saturday at the fall gathering it was a good finish . . . pumped up the adrenaline, though, which may have led to extra rowdiness at the party (?) ah well . . .

seconded berkly at the 04 Fall Gathering - then he belayed the other FOUR in the party! Fun fun route, lots of variety (crack, face, dihedral, stemming, whatnot)

The wife can hardly wait to do it again - without the crowd!

came back and led it a while later - a couple of times! I like this one. It gets used as a down-climb for amazon and other soloists.

My first Lichen Wall climb - I "thirded" the route, with Terry first and Mark in the middle - he just went past the pro & I cleaned, which was nice so I was still protected on the traverse etc. No probs, though. Water exposure was cool, and playing with the fish while waiting for my turn was fun - saw them go at bugs that were falling in the water, so I tried it w/ little pieces of granite. They all go for 'em, then spit 'em out if they actually bite 'em. Edit for 12/16/6 - finally got around to the lead on this one. Fun, though didn't find much pro for the initial traverse. Wasn't too worried about Sean though. Fun warmer-upper for a hell of a weekend.

Finally got back to this, really sweet line. Pro seemed sparse, so I ran out most of the headwall, but mostly I just wanted to keep moving. Surprisingly polished & "thin for 5.8" after climbing mostly Arky for a bit!

Really fun - I seconded spivey as the last climb of a long day in the narrows. I really dug its length and variety - cracks, mantels, etc. I look forward to leading this one!

pinkpoint actually, was going to second the route but spivey dropped the rope! Fun little route, I intend to lead it next time in (gear-setting practice, mostly)
