A good top rope, but a better lead. Great gear and it's just as difficult on lead as on T.R.

A fun lead, just X-tend your pro under the roof so as to keep the drag factor down.

If you really think "Widow Maker" is a 5.10a then I'm a monkeys uncle, That climb is harder for me than Solar Flare! Guess that makes me a winer. But a happy winer though.

Ascent Note
After a long and wonderful affair with Solar Flare I got a clean lead Saturday afternoon.
Thank you Seth, Ben, Tres, Paul, Jim, Dave, David, Brian, Cole, Mark and Craig... You guys helped me dare to believe, to dream bigger dreams. You were there to catch my falls and encourage me forward, even when my knees were knocking. We've chased our dreams together. By seeing you step up, it's inspired me to try harder...
Tres, I would not have grown as I have without meeting you, that day at Rose years ago. Since that time I've lead my 1st 5.10, 1st 5.11 and taken at least one noteworthy wipper, thanks for catching me. You not only welcomed me into the group, but have always believed in me. I was glad to have you belaying me on Solar Flare, I was able to fully let go and climb. Thank you for being one of those really good friends, through thick and thin...
Thank you all for the climbing and friendship over the years. I look forward to more of these adventures, til long after were old and crusty.
May we all realize our dreams, climbing and otherwise.

A nice lead, great gear. It's the run-out to the 1st piece to be aware of.

Ascent Note
Awesome route! Alot of time went into making it to the top. She has 2 cruxes, 1st right off the ground hard 5.10?, then a nice no hands rest, you're tips are torched, some easy moves then into The Crux, 5.11/5.11+, the hand holds are almost nonexistent, and if you don't set the right foot precisley onto the parking lot (3/8"), you get spit right off. Really strong fingers are a must. One of the best routes I've climbed. The anchor is more than the tree in back, use the tree on the climbers right too and also a crack on the left side with some pro, this will keep the anchor from rolling off the top, (very unlikely) but I like to cover my A$$. Oh yeah, this is a sand bag at 5.11a as suggested in this section on Purgatory Chasm, more like 5.11c\d. Have fun! Oh yeah, we named it "The GoBotRock".
