Yes, the bulge is the crux, but the climbing above it is pretty fun too. Easier and not really overhung (so there's less physical stress), but fun.

Good Fun.
Crux is fairly low. And strenuous. But while the difficulty backs off a little from there, the route is still varied and thought provoking.
As I was climbing, a big chuckwalla lizard came out and started chowing orange flowers just 15 feet or so from my belayer. He hung around while my partner climbed too, climbing through the plant and munching flowers. Then he scurried off.

I Enjoyed It.
Flashed it my first time up. TR'd it a little later. Second time up was more fun, 'cause I cruised.
It's got a really fun first 12 feet (or so). Decently big moves to deadpoint on crimpers. YeeHaaa!!! After that it backs off in both challenge and fun.

A good route. But moreso than GrapeApe next door, this route is now noticeably tougher to finish without the juggy rail that used to be just below the anchors.
As with most routes, foot position at the crux is key.

Before the bulge, it's bouldery and even a bit twisty. Above the bulge it's an easy crawl.
