Carissa took her time on Three Pines, and it was late in the day. I didn't want to get on something I had never climbed before and risk running out of daylight, so I went with the ol' standard. Still gave me a thrill on the crux.

The corner up to the 'V' and the 'V' itself are exciting. I had to back off three times before I had the confidence to pull the 'V' move successfully. My hardest lead to date.

My first 5.7 lead. I climbed the corner to the "V" notch and downclimbed back to the rest three times before I was comfortable that I could do the moves and protect the crux without problem. I have those move committed to memory now. The fourth time I moved quickly up, protected the crux and moved through to the top. What a cool route!
