3 out of 5 stars Watch the variation

Not an overly difficult route but we took the variaton to the left past the tree. According to the book we are then supposed to follow the dihedral up but there is a six foot drop off from the end of the dihedral to continue up the route. It is a little run out in spots but generally only on really easy rock.

4 out of 5 stars Not too hard but long

The first pitch was not really all that sketchy and I didn't really feel the run out. The climbs on each pitch went well but my climbing partner and I need to work on our transitions. We started at 0900 and we were told to be back at the parking NLT h 1500 but we were too slow and had to to rap off of the back once we hit the North Arrete. It was a great climb though.

4 out of 5 stars Nice beginner level crack climb.

First pitch is mostly 5.4 crack climbing with a short section of verticle 5.5. Lots of natural pro as well as the crack wich will take from #2 to #5 camalots. We stopped at the chockstone for first belay anchor. The second pitch is mostly 5.4 but with a small roof right before the belay. Easy third and fourth class walk off to the south.

4 out of 5 stars Easy but eats big pro.

I led the first pitch and the crack ate two # 5 camalots and two #4s and I could have used another #5. With a sixty meter half rope I was able to reach a small verticle crack past the horn, but only just. Rope drag is rough on this one. Seconded the second pitch. There were a couple 5.5 moves but mostly 5.4. I started the lead on the third pitch but we had to bail due to weather.

3 out of 5 stars Easy route with big pro

Seconded the first pitch. There was one 5.6 move around a bulge. I led the second pitch. Weather was coming so we moved up out the crack to the left to a flat belay stand

4 out of 5 stars Little sketchy below the anchor

Nice bolted route. All friction. Just a bit sketchy below the anchor. I felt more sketchy there than on the crux.

3 out of 5 stars Tougher than it should have been.

I unwisely decided to cimb this one in my approach shoes instead of my climbing shoes since it was a 5.6 in the new guide book. It starts out easy but below the crux the holds and feet are crumbling. I never had confidence in my feet because of the shoes and that made the climb harder than it should have been, at least until the crux. Above the crux it's a walk.

3 out of 5 stars First 5.6 lead.

Smeary start is worn kind of smooth. I had a little trouble at the start to the first bolt. After that it was a cake walk. The hangers at the top are a bit loose and there are no rap rings. The new guide book rates this one a 5.6
