This was my first lead climb. I remembered the Red Slab being easy last year. Now that I was leading it, it seemed to have gotten harder although my skill level has improved. It didn't even seem like the same route. where did the foot holds go?

I had to start this one 3 times before I got going. Once I got past the first 3 moves it turned into a really fun route. The day had been rainy but this part of the wall was dry.

This was a good one for me to worm up on. It wasn't that high and it didn't seem too 10a ish. This was my fist 10a but most 9.9s still give me a lot of challenge. This would be a good one to do laps on.

Ascent Note
This was my first 5.9. This route is sweet because it has a little of everthing. There are a few bi-pockest, side clings, 3 nice rails, a couple of nice jugs in the right place, lots of small edges, larger foot hold features, and toe holds. there is a nice ledge at the anchor to stand on to survey the canyon.

Ascent Note
A good workout for a beginner. I had to hunt for crimpy hand holds and smear in places. I felt good to make it to the top.
