Carboman cleansing

Josh Baggett and I ticked off this Jeep Gaskin classic on Labor Day when the rest of the North Side was crowded.

A great first pitch followed by a devious, wandering second pitch. The bolt of the second pitch crux is an ancient rusted SMC... and Shull's "Selected Climbs" calls the second pitch 90' which is just not true. Its more like 135 or 140, which doesn't get you back to any rap station with a single line... See single bolt in the face.

Retrieve your gear.

Did this route with the intention of grabbing some gear I left on Dialing for Buckets. I should have just done that route again. The climbing on Dialing is way more fun and protects much better until that last bulge.

Grunt!

Its actually only a grunt if you are vertically challenged. My second gave it hell and pulled through like a champ though. A super fun move that is well protected. String the two pitches for a long wandering length through bolts.

Excellent!

I've done this route clean, not so clean, and down right ugly. It was the site of my first gear fall. I love it. The direct start is the only way to go.

WARNING! BETA SPRAY! Look high out right for some black crystals, pimp those things with your foot and rock up on it.

Cedar Trade Route

Great edges through the first pitch! A tad spacious between gear, unless you are used to style 'round here, use a pink or red tri-cam to protect the white crescent and prevent excessive run out. The second pitch is super fun with a tricky move that probably validates the (+) rating. Besides, .10a is easier than .9+ anyway.
