5 out of 5 stars Redpoint

My first redpoint of this route. A bit sustained and high quality. I'd give this one either 9+ or .10a.

4 out of 5 stars Party of 4

John Jones, Mark Morgan, Lisa & myself. Everyone got a couple of laps before the rains (and hail) came.

5 out of 5 stars short but fun lead

More overhanging than we had anticipated (one of the guides called it a 5.7) but very enjoyable short line with an interesting mantle move past the crux.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent 9+ ... don't climb dehydrated

Lisa led this through the 7th bolt. I finished, having to hang on the last bolt before pulling to the chains. This one definitely bears a repeat when we're both feeling better.

4 out of 5 stars Nice line...cold shuts a little manky

This is a very nice 5.8 with the added bonus of fixed gear between the second bolt and cold shuts. Shuts were a bit manky but I don't think this area seems much 'upkeep' in terms of bolts and anchors. Very nice, flat belay.

4 out of 5 stars much fun...belay kind of sucks

Lisa & I ran up this as our first climb at Iron Gate. Very fun 5.6 but the belay (and the trail up from rt. 220) leaves a lot to be desired.

5 out of 5 stars Lisa's best sport lead at the Red. Very aesthetic line.

Lisa flashed this climb. Enroute on the hike up we saw a garter snake and then a small copperhead in the forest growth right at the base of the climb. If she hadn't seen the snake when we first got there, I'd probably have put my pack down right on top of it!

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic line.

The best 5.9 I did at the Red. Technical slab start, a nice roof problem and a jug haul thereafter. Excellent.

4 out of 5 stars Agree that this is a 5.8

Very enjoyable line but no way is it 5.9 based on similar ratings in the Red.
